I found out just this week that April is national poetry month. The majority of people I know hate poetry, but it is one of the things that I love the most; I think poetry is one of the most beautiful art forms out there. I feel like I have to write a lot of poetry now!

2011, you were an okay year at best. You had a lot of ups and downs; and a lot of inbetweens too. I've changed a lot this year, for better or for worse I do not know. I'll have to wait for more years to pass to figure that out.

I have no resolutions for the New Year; I never do. I probably won't stay up 'til midnight either; I don't find any excitement in that. To me there is more excitement in sleeping.

And before you even think of asking, no I do not believe in 12/21/12. I think it's all just a bunch of stupid media hype and crazy ancient peoples who found amusement in ripping out the hearts of living humans. Think about it, it doesn't make any sense, believe me.

School starts on Monday....YAY! (no sarcasm intended, I swear).

<Hallelujah chorus sounds> YAY!!! FOUR DAY WEEEKEND!!!!!!

As you probably can tell, I'm very excited! My siblings are coming home from college and we'll all be cooking and eating on Thanksgiving. But I'm most looking forward to the freetime from school. I'm mainly going to use this to write and draw. I have drawn a picture of a flower in my sketchbook. I plan to make copies of it and finish in using various approaches. One I will color it with colored pencils. I will also shade it traditonally on a different copy. Then I will use ink and crosshatching to finish another. I need more practice with crosshatching; I got a D on my crosshatching project for Drawing class. Hopefully, after drawing different picture with crosshatching, I will get better. Unfortunately though, I have homework for Monday I'm not happy with that (obviously) but it's something I'm used to dealing with.

I didn't have much homework to do today; I had time to make a painting. I haven't decided if it is good or not, but I liked making it. I dropped a class next semester so I'll have a study hall. Hopefully, I'll be able to get more homework done at school and therefore have more time to draw and paint when I'm at home.
