Last Friday, my dad and I saw American English, a Beatles tribute band. The show was amazing and so much fun (my ears rung for 3 days :XD:)! I think that concert is the reason why my interest in psychedelic rock has boomed this week. It's not that I haven't before, just not this much. I have always like artists such as Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, and Pink Floyd. Monday morning I went to the school library during my Study Hall. Wanting to see if there were any books about cool people, I looked around the biography section. Most of the biographies were about presidents, or scientists, or knights, or other boring people but I finally came across some interesting ones. I checked out one on Janis Joplin. It was a very visually appealing, with large photos and bright, psychedelic designs edging its pages. I found that Janis and I have many things in common: we're both misfits, we're both artistic, we both love music, and we both rebel against conformity. I had read through the whole thing the next day. During my lunch period on Tuesday, I went back to the library and returned the Janis Joplin biography. I went back into the biography section and began looking for something new to read. There were a bucket-load of John Lennon biographies to choose from. After about ten minutes, I decided on a beefy, 640-paged one and began reading. I find everything about it very interesting, from John's bad behaviour in school to his crude cartoons that he drew. I am about a hundred or so pages into it already. I borrowed some Beatles CDs earlier this week from my dad and I listen to them in the stereo or on my MP3 player whenever I can. Right now the Beatles are my favorite band but I don't know how long they will hold that position as my favorites are always changing. :horns:
